Phoenix Jail Mugshots
Phoenix jail mugshots are held by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, not the city police. When Phoenix Police make an arrest, the person is booked at an MCSO facility where their mugshot is taken. Phoenix is the largest city in Arizona and the state capital. With over 1.6 million residents, thousands of arrests happen here each year. This guide explains where to find booking photos for Phoenix arrests and how to request police records from the city.
Phoenix Jail Records Quick Facts
Where to Find Phoenix Arrest Mugshots
Phoenix does not operate its own jail. All arrests by Phoenix Police go to Maricopa County jail facilities for booking. This means mugshots are held by the county sheriff, not the city. To search for Phoenix arrest mugshots, use the MCSO inmate search tools.
The Maricopa County inmate search lets you look up current jail inmates by name or booking number. For direct mugshot lookups, visit the MCSO mugshot page. These free tools cover all arrests processed through the county system, including those made by Phoenix Police.
For more details about the Maricopa County jail system and records requests, see the Maricopa County jail mugshots page.
Phoenix Police Department Records
The Phoenix Police Department keeps its own records separate from booking photos. This includes incident reports, arrest reports, and 911 call recordings. These records do not include mugshots, which stay with the county jail.
The police records unit is at 1717 E Grant St, Suite 100, Phoenix, AZ 85034. Phone: (602) 534-1127. Email: policepublicrecords@phoenix.gov. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Use the Phoenix Public Safety records portal to request police reports online. Reports cost $0.24 per page. Video copies cost $4.00. 911 call recordings cost $16.50 each.
Phoenix Records Request Portal
The online portal makes it easy to request police records. You can submit requests any time and track their status. The system handles incident reports, crash reports, and other police documents from Phoenix.
Clearance letters cost $8.50 if no record exists or $28.00 if a record is found. Criminal history searches are handled by the city for background check purposes. These are separate from jail mugshots held by Maricopa County.
Note: Mugshots are not available through the Phoenix Police records portal since they are county jail records.
