Pima County Jail Quick Facts
Pima County Mugshot Policy Update
The Pima County Sheriff's Department changed its booking photo policy in September 2024. The department announced it would cease releasing booking photos in any format. This affects both online access and in-person records requests.
This policy shift came after the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling in Houston v. Maricopa County. Many Arizona counties reviewed their practices after this decision. Pima County chose to stop sharing mugshots entirely as a result. You can still search for inmate custody status and booking information, but photos are no longer provided to the public in Pima County.
Note: This policy may change as the legal situation develops across Arizona.
